Monster Jam World Finals 2020 - diecast design

Project Overview
This project showcases my work in 3D asset creation, technical art, and production workflows.
The Monster Jam World Finals XX truck wrap is one of the most memorable design projects I worked on during my time with Monster Jam. From 2017 to 2020, I served as the 3D Artist and Graphic Designer for the entire Monster Jam fleet, responsible for updating and maintaining all 2D and 3D assets used across marketing, licensing, and production. This particular design was originally intended for a limited‑edition diecast toy that would be sold exclusively on‑site at the 2020 Monster Jam World Finals in Orlando. Unfortunately, the COVID‑19 pandemic forced the cancellation of the event, turning this design into a commemorative piece for a World Finals that never actually happened.
The theme for the previous year’s World Finals was a Florida sunset, and because the 2020 event was also planned for Orlando, we decided to base the new design on a sunrise. I wanted the artwork to feel energetic, optimistic, and visually tied to Florida’s identity. The gradient sky, warm color palette, and rising sun motif were all chosen to evoke the feeling of a new day — a symbolic continuation of the Florida theme while still giving the 2020 design its own identity.
One of the most unique aspects of this wrap was the inclusion of two different side panels. The driver’s side featured the Orlando skyline, capturing the city’s recognizable architecture and giving the design a strong sense of place. The passenger side showcased Camping World Stadium, the venue where the World Finals was scheduled to be held. This dual‑panel approach made the truck visually distinct from every angle and tied the artwork directly to the event’s location.
Even though the World Finals never happened, the design didn’t go unused. The diecast was made available for sale online at the Monster Jam Store.
For this project, I handled the full design process: concept development, illustration, layout, color work, and final production‑ready graphics. The turntable render linked below shows the complete wrap in detail, including the sunrise gradient, skyline silhouettes, stadium artwork, and event branding. Even though the event itself never took place, this design remains one of my favorite pieces from my time at Monster Jam because it represents both the creative energy of the brand and a unique moment in its history.
